Due to the complications resulting from the stay-at-home orders and the continued deterioration of the swimming pool, it was decided, at the April 21, 2020 City Commission meeting, to not open the swimming pool this year. Moreover, with the aid of the Park & Recreation Board, the City Commission will consider whether or not to start the process of repairing the swimming pool, or perhaps closing it and replacing it with a splash pad, etc.

I understand the concerns but hope the city will pursue a way of maintaining a swimming pool for it’s citizens in the future!!!

Please, please consider repairing it and keeping it open. My grandchildren are still involved with swimming lessons and one of their highlights it to jump off the diving board. Please don't close it permanently.

Please keep the pool open. It's always been something that everybody has looked forward to. It is the hallmark of summer in St. Marys for the children to be able to play and socialize at the pool. Please, please keep it open.

Please don't close the pool for good! It's a piece of St. Marys history. Generations of St. Marys families have made the pool a summer tradition.

Please consider repairing the pool. This pool is a part of St. Marys' past and present. It is a place for small town kids to go and play. They don't have several options like larger city kids do. Also learning to swim is so important.

I grew up in St. Marys and the pool has always been the place to be for kids--the place to hang out with friends in a supervised setting. PLEASE do the repairs!

Please repair the pool even if you have to raise summer pass amount. There isn't much for us to do in this town and we would much rather invest in our town than outside of it. As mentioned by someone else, there aren't recreational outlets like other nearby towns.

We need to repair the swimming pool. A splash park is not going to make you any money. Having a swimming pool in a small town is a huge deal.

Please repair the pool, obviously a small town has very little for kids to keeps active. A pool is a big part of what's going on at the park during the summer. Please don't let what's going on during the current situation to take over our future!

Please keep the pool open! A big attraction for my husband and I to move here was the amazing park and pool here in town. I agree raise the fee. I think many of us would be happy to donate to the cause and hopefully many families from the past as well. Do some extra things with it to create money, water aerobic classes, senior citizen times, adults only, private parties with screens for more privacy (thinking families here) I am sure there are other ideas......
