The December 3, 2019 power outage occurred at around 2:30 p.m. Once the city's utility crew believed that the outage was a Westar (Evergy) outage...we contacted its dispatch at 2:36 p.m. At 2:38 p.m. we contacted the city's representative with Evergy. At 2:38 p.m. Westar texted the city the following information... At 2:41 p.m. the city sent out a Nixle with the information from Evergy: At 3:37 p.m. the Evergy contact called to say that an underground wire at a substation at the Jeffrey Energy Center had failed. At 3:38 p.m. Evergy texted the city a reason for the outage:
