Response to Questions Submitted to the St. Marys City Commission Regarding: Beltline Energy — Proposed Data Center Adjacent to the Jeffrey Energy Center
While reviewing the city's refuse agreement I realized the rates stipulated in the 2024 contract with TriCounty were never implemented, causing the city to remit less than required to TriCounty.
For the three residential classes, 822 customers should each have been charged an additional $0.75 per month for the last 26-months. 822 @ $0.75/month for 26 months amounts to $16,029. To address the matter the city commission increased the residential rates for the three categories to $23.30, $23.70, and $24.70 (respectively) per month for the next ten months. The image below illustrates the commercial customer rates: The link above is to the City’s first newsletter of 2026. The PDF is 24 pages. The first 13 pages contain the city newsletter, and the remaining 11 pages provide a brief history of the library.
