The St. Marys Game

Fire service training & readiness practice
Game tools

Pick a module below and work through its stages — short readings, knowledge checks, and decision scenarios built for game-based fire-service practice. Answer the final check well enough to earn that module's in-game badge.

This is a training-practice aid, not a certification. The game helps St. Marys Fire Department members study and rehearse decisions. It does not certify anyone, qualify anyone for any task, or authorize anyone to perform any role. Official certification and authorization come only from the recognized authorities — such as the Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute, the Kansas Board of EMS, and the department's own authorization process — never from a score here.

“Qualified (in-game)” carries no real-world authority. It means only that you answered enough practice items correctly. On a real incident you operate by the department's Rule of Authorization: only at the level you are trained, currently credentialed, and specifically authorized to perform. Where any standard or policy is stricter, the stricter requirement controls.

Standards and organizations are named for reference only. Programs and bodies (for example NFPA, KFRTI, IFSAC, Pro Board, NWCG, NIMS/ICS, the AHA, and Stop the Bleed) are referenced nominatively for education. No copyrighted standards text, skill sheets, test banks, or examinations are reproduced. Trademarks belong to their owners.

No medical authority or advice. Members provide patient care only within their current credential, local protocol, and medical direction. Physical-readiness material here describes a general job-task evaluation; it is not the CPAT® program and is not affiliated with it.

Original educational content. This material was created as a local training-practice game and is not for commercial resale. Some items must be confirmed and adapted to local policy before adoption. Always defer to current local policies and procedures, the Authority Having Jurisdiction, manufacturer instructions, and the controlling federal and state standards.

Training levels

All thirteen modules are ready to run — the seven tiers (Recruit through Fire Officer) plus six cross-cutting programs: Medical First Response, Rapid Intervention & Survival, Fitness & Wellness, Cancer Prevention & Contamination Control, Behavioral Health & Peer Support, and the Junior/Cadet Program. Each opens with a brief, knowledge checks, a decision scenario, and a final check.
